Mr. Richardson arrived in the U.S. when a young man and later settled in Cleveland. In 1868 he began work in the office of Architect Blackburn and after a subsequent period of practice in association with other architects, opened an office of his own in 1889.
Employed both as architect and engineer, he planned a number of early buildings in Cleveland, including the Masonic Temple; Scottish Rite Temple; Jewish Orphanage; and St. Joseph's Church. As an engineer, he was connected with the erection of a large number of power plants in Cleveland and other cities.
