John Michael Russell is a British rower who competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics and in the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Achievements
In 1959, he won the Wingfield Sculls. Four years later, he won the silver medal with the British boat in the coxless fours competition with Hugh Wardell-Yerburgh, William Barry, and John James.

In 1960, he was a crew member of the British coxed four which was eliminated in the repechage of the coxed fours event.
