John Telford, the mainly self-taught photographer studied briefly with Ansel Adams and Wynn Bullock.
Since 1976 John Telford has been director of Photographic Services at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. From 1973 to 1976 he founded and directed Edison Street Gallery in Salt Lake City, and from 1969 to 1976 was a commercial photographer for Borge Andersen and Assoc., also in Salt Lake City.
John Telford produces "straight" photographs, primarily of the natural landscape "with emphasis on the mysterious, surreal, and abstract forms in nature."
