When Nixon, Yow, Waller & Capers dissolved in 1992, approximately half of its partners, including John Doctorate. Capers, the only name partner who was then practicing law, formed the firm now known as Capers, Dunbar, Sanders & Bruckner.
The firm continues its practice in the former offices of Nixon, Yow, Waller & Capers and specializes in litigation, insurance, banking, wills and estates, real estate. The firm serves as general counsel to the City of Augusta. Mr. Capers was a founder and the first president of the Georgia Defense Lawyer"s Association.
Several members of the firm are regularly called upon by the Attorney General of Georgia to represent the State of Georgia and its departments and agencies in complex litigation.
