Bvtd. brigadier general, March 13, 1865, “for gallant and meritorious services”. Was attached to Army of Potomac.
Fought in most battles of that army. Wounded and horse killed at Glendale.
Shot through chest at Chancellorsville.
Taken prisoner at Bristol Station. Confined in Libby Prison. Was president Ramapo Foundry & Wheel Works, Ramapo Manufacturing Company, New York Stamping Company, Pierson & Company, Incorporated.
