Matriculated at London University, 1888. Became Member Royal College of Surgeons (England), Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians (London), 1894. Gazetted to Army Medical Staff, 1895.
Captain R. A.M.C. 1898. Served in Boer War, with 3rd King’s Royal Rifle Corps, from December 1899 to October 1900 (severely wounded, Queen’s medal, three clasps, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order). Major, 1907. Decorated for meritorious service whilst in medical charge of 3rd King’s Royal Rifles. Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1900; R. A.M.C.
Spouse 1895, Clara Edith,daughter of late James Hedley, Richmond, Yorks.
