Entered Brown U., 1857 (A.M., by special vote, 1876, Doctor of Laws, 1893).

Admitted to bar, 1865, and practiced at Providence. Mem, Rhode Island House of Representatives, 1874-1875. The American Association For Justice, 1875-1900, chief justice, 1900-1904, Supreme Court of the Rhode Island.
