One son, John C. (Doctor of Medicine). Began medical practice at New York, 1889. Conducted a sanitarium, Stamford, Connecticut, 1896-1897.

Established, 1897, and since owner, River Crest Sanitarium, Astoria, Long Island, for mental and nervous diseases, Belle Mead (New Jersey) Sanatorium and Farm for Mental and Nervous Diseases.

Consultant mental diseases. Professor medical jurisprudence, John B. Stetson University, DeLand, Florida.

Also largely interested in real estate, building of homes and agriculture. Member 62d, and 67th to 70th Congresses (1911-1913 and 1921-1929), 2d New York District.
