Member of the editorial staffs of El Mercurio of Valparaiso, Sucesos, Louisiana Mañana, and Louisiana Nación of Santiago, and El Sur of Concepción. Secretary of the legal department (fiscalía general) of the Navy, 1905-1907. Professor in the Naval School and in the School of Naval Engineering, 1910- 1915.
Professor of international law in the Academy of War in 1917 and at the present time.
Department head and assistant secretary of the Ministry of Labor, 1925-1928. Head of the Journalists’ Insurance Fund (Caja de Previsión de Periodistas), 1928-1931.
Professor of social economics and labor legislation in the University of Chile since 1930. President of the First National Congress of Company-operative Societies, 1930.
Of the First National Congress on Housing Problems (Habitación Popular).
Legal consultant ad honorem of various workers’ societies. Etc. Since 1929 has maintained an office which under the name of "El Amigo del Pueblo” has extended gratuitous legal services to the poor.
