Josceline Rose Dimbleby attended the Guildhall School of Music.
Josceline Rose Dimbleby started her career as a food writer at Sainsbury's (supermarket chain), London, England in 1978-97. She served as a food editor for Sunday Telegraph, London from 1982 to 1997.
Josceline wrote her first book “A Taste of Dreams: Josceline Dimbleby's Cookery Book” in 1976. Her “Party Pieces: Special Recipes to Celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee” was published in 1978, “Cooking with Herbs and Spices” in 1979, “Family Meat and Fish Cookery” in 1979, “Josceline Dimbleby's Book of Puddings, Desserts, and Savouries” in 1979, “Curries and Oriental Cookery” in 1980.
Dimbleby is also the author of “The Josceline Dimbleby Collection” that was published in 1984, “The Josceline Dimbleby Book of Entertaining” in 1988 and “The Cook's Companion” in 1991. She was a regular contributor to BBC Good Food from 1993 to 1994 and “Ideal Home” in 1999-2000. Josceline Rose is also a contributor to other periodicals including Conde Nast Traveller, Apollo, Bookseller, Independent and Spectator.
Dimbleby proved her ability to write about more than cooking and entertaining with her book of family history “A Profound Secret: May Gaskell, Her Daughter Amy, and Edward Burne-Jones” in 2004. This complex story is drawn from letters Dimbleby discovered among family possessions, which showed that her great-grandmother, May Gaskell, was involved in a passionate friendship with the painter Edward Burne-Jones.
