Education

Began study of piano at age of 4. Pupil of Safonoff, at Moscow Conservatory.

Career

Debut, Moscow, 1889, A. Rubinstein conducting. Winner Rubinstein prize, Berlin, 1895. Made several concert, tours of Europe.

American debut with Russian Symphony Orchestra, New York, January 27, 1906.

Has toured United States many times—every year since 1920. Also Mexico, Cuba, Panama.

European trips, 1926, 29, 37. Appearances with Madame

Lhevinne in two-piano recitals.

Member of faculty Juilliard Graduate School.
