Ben-David attended Hebrew University in Jerusalem, 1970 and earned Doctor of Medicine degree from Hebrew University in 1981.
Ben-David worked as an assistant director of cardiac care in Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem from 1985 till 1986. Two years later he became a chief fellow of electrophysiology of Medical Center, Indianapolis till 1989. Also he was a senior researcher in Indiana University the same year.
Joseph was a consultant in Medtronic Company, Minneapolis also from 1989 to 1990. He served as a director of electrophysiology and pacing in Carmel Medical Center, Haifa, Israel, since 1990. Ben-David was an associate professor of TECHNION Medical School, since 1996. He was a director of International Fellowship Training Program in North America. Now he is a committee member of Israel Working Group Pacing and Electrophysiology, since 1994.
He is a member of council clinical cardiology of American Heart Association, 1992. He was in the Major Israel Defense Forces, 1965-1968. Also Joseph Ben-David is a fellow of American College Cardiology (Science Achievements in Curriculum Vitae 1990).
He is a member of North America Society Pacing and Electrophysiology, Society Pacing and Electrophysiology, New York Academy of Sciences.
Joseph Ben-David married Amith Rosenwasser on October 27, 1970 (unfortunately, she deceased in 1998). He has three children: Eran, Matan and Yohai.
