Lee, Joseph was born on March 8, 1862 in Brookline, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Henry and Elizabeth Perkins (Cabot) Lee.

Career

Admitted to Massachusetts bar, 1887. Organized, and president Massachusetts Civic League. Instrumental in securing much social legislation in Massachusetts.

Promoter of playground movement. Member Boston School Committee, 1909-1917. Member Massachusetts Commision on Probation, 1908-1912.

President National Recreation Association, since 1910.
