Carr, Joseph Bradford was born on August 16, 1828 in Albany, New York, United States. Son of William and Ann C. Commissioned Colonel New York State Militia, 1849, colonel of a militia regiment, 1859, colonel 2d New York Infantry, 1861, commanded a brigade in Peninsula Campaign and 2d Battle of Bull Run.
