He studied architecture at the University of Louvain, and during extensive travels in Europe.
After arriving in America, he opened an office in Terre Haute during the early sixties and has been credited with the design of many buildings in the city. These include the State Normal School and the City Hotel (Terre Haute House), also courthouses at Bedford and Mount Vernon, and some of the buildings at DePauw University.
