Joyce Hinnefeld was born on November 9, 1961, in Brownstown, Indiana, to Lynn and Wilma Mclloncamp Hinnefeld.
In 1984, Hinnefeld received a Bachelor of Arts from Hanover College. She also received a Master of Arts from Northwestern University, and then, in 1995, a Ph.D. from State University of New York, Albany.
Joyce Hinnefeld was an assistant professor of English at Moravian College in Bethlehem. She also held teaching positions at the College of New Rochelle, Siena College, State University of New York (Albany), and Dutchess Community College. She is currently the Cohen Chair member in English and Literature at Moravian College in Bethlehem.
Joyce is the author of the books Tell Me Everything and Other Stories (1998), In Hovering Flight (2008), and Stranger Here Below (2010).
