Joyce Ann Senn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College and Master of Arts degree from Trinity College.
From 1970 to 1974 Joyce Ann Senn was an advertising copywriter at Xerox Publications in Middletown, Connecticut. From 1974 to 1979 she was a high school English teacher in Collinsville, Connecticut. From 1979 to 1982 Senn served as a senior editor for language arts at Ginn and Co. in Lexington, Massachusetts.
From 1982 to 1983 she was a managing editor for language arts at D.C. Heath and Co. in Lexington. Since 1983 she has been a freelance writer, editor, and educational consultant. She gives book presentations and professional workshops throughout the United States.
