Born in Jerez de la Frontera, Province of Cádiz, Juanito finished his formation with Xerez Civil Defense, making his debuts as a senior with the reserves in 2009, in the regional divisions.

He played his first official game with the Andalusians" first team on 3 June 2012, featuring the last 24 minutes in a 0–6 home loss against Football Club Barcelona B for the Segunda División championship. On 6 August 2013 Juanito signed with CF Pobla de Mafumet, in Tercera División. He subsequently resumed his career in the lower leagues, representing UB Lebrijana, Civil Defense Guadalcacín, Jerez Industrial CF (two stints), Penya Esportiva Sant Jordi and UD Roteña.
