1997Quotations: "Being a kid isn’t easy, and it’s harder for some than others. I found my strength — my courage — in the pages of books, in which the characters modeled the behaviors and traits I wanted for myself. It is my hope, that the characters, who are born through my stories, will inspire today’s young readers and give them hope and courage to carry into their futures."
Judith is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Judith married Brian Fatzinger in August of 1968. Ten years later, in 1978, the couple divorced. In June of 1979, Lehne married her second husband, Edward Lehne, with whom she separated in July, 1996.
Judith has four children — Shane and Kyle — from the first marriage, and Todd and Tessa — from the second marriage.
