Education

Judith M. Thorpe received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Ball State University. In 1986 she got a Doctor of Philosophy from Ohio State University.

Career

Judith M. Thorpe was employed at Ball State University in 1976. From 1984 to 1986 she was a graduate assistant at Ohio State University. Judith also served at the University of Tennessee—Knoxville and the University of Wisconsin—Oshkosh. Her articles were published in Canada Week Papers, Journal of Communication, Journal of Popular Culture, Feedback: A Journal of the Broadcast Education Association, Communication Reports, Journal of American Culture: Studies of a Civilization, Journal of the Wisconsin Communication Association and others.

Thorpe co-authored the book Media Criticism: Journeys in Interpretation, which was published in 1992, with Christine A. Scodari.

Achievements

• Judith Mosier Thorpe has been listed as a noteworthy communications educator by Marquis Who's Who. She was selected as the National Association of Television Programmers Fellow to attend NATPE Convention in New Orleans and received a Faculty award Academy television Arts and Sciences.
