Burch, Judith Varney was born on September 16, 1937 in Kewanee, Illinois, United States. Daughter of Harley Roosevelt and Elsie (Pendleton) Varney.

Docent emeritus Virginia Museum Fine Art, Richmond, 1978-1993. Owner Arcic Inuit Art, since 1985, Kingsburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, since 1998. Curator, lecturer in field.

Leader Inuit Studies Conference, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, 1996, Nuuk, Greenland, 1998. Curator Inuit exhibitions at Canada Embassy, Washington, since 1987. Judge Kivalliq Arts Festival, Rankin Inlet, Northwest Territories, Canada, commissioned consultant Canada Arctic Producers (the Arctic art co-op), 1995.
