Sohn, Jungyul was born on October 11, 1968 in Seoul, Korea (South). Son of Dongin Sohn and Youngsoo Kim.

Bachelor with honors, Seoul National University, 1987—1991. Master of Arts, Seoul National University, 1991—1993. Doctor of Philosophy, University of Illinois, 1996—2002.

Career

Research associate University Maryland, College Park, 2002—2004. Assistant professor University Memphis, 2004—2006, Seoul National University, since 2006, associate professor, since 2008. Affiliate professor University Maryland, 2004—2006.
