He graduated from Missouri University in 1927. He finished Postgraduate Course at Chicago University and received degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
He became a teacher of Doshisha High School in 1928. He became pastor at Bancho Church and Minami (South) Osaka Church. He was appointed professor at Doshisha University in 1947 and dean of Theological Department of the same university in 1949. He received the title of honorary professor of Theological Department of Chicago University (1950). He served as member of Kyoto Public Safety Commission (1953-54).
