Career
While engaging in sale of Uji tea, served as president of Marukoshi Department Store, Hokuriku Railway and Prefectural and Municipal Chambers of Commerce and Industry and thereafter was elected once to House of Peers. Because his wife Toshiko was an old friend of Kiyo Sakamoto, usually known as Korin, present wife of former premier Shijreru Yoshida, he is on intimate terms with Yoshida and took seat in 4th Yoshida Cabinet as State Minister.
