Kamesaburo Yamashita was a broker in coal and shipping. Amassed a fortune during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) and World War I. He was founder and president of Yamashita Steamship and of Manchurian Transport companies. Later was adviser to Tojo Cabinet (1943).
