His father taught him to read the solar and lunar calendars and also astronomy.
Career
His fame as an astrologer soon grew and Kamo no Mitsuyoshi became a close rival of Seimei Abe. His book Rekirin 10 vols. (a glossary of astrological facts) has been used as a text book for students of astrology.
