ANSON, Karl was born in 1887 in Liflyand Province. Son of a blacksmith.

Education

Graduate Pedagogical Faculty, Second Moscow University. Postgraduate studies at Moscow Institute of Psychology.

Career

1912 imprisoned for revol activities. Early 1917 exiled to Narym Kray. Late 1917 helped establish Soviet rule in Siberia and the Urals.

Served with Red Army. Secretary, Party organizations during studies at Moscow University and Institute of Psychology. From 1930 secretary, Party organisation, then laboratory head, Moscow Institute of Psychology.

From 1944 rector, Riga Teachers’ Training Institute. Published works on campaign against idealism in Soviet psychology.
