Bradford, Karl Slaughter was born on June 28, 1889 in Washington, District of Columbia. Son of Ben Boyland and Nellie Irene (Harvey) Bradford.

Education

Student of University of Virginia, 1906-1907. Bachelor of Science, United States Military Academy, 1911. Graduate Machine Gun Officers School, Ecole Speciale Militaire, St. Cyr, France, Cavalry School, Command and General staff schedul and Army War College.

Career

1 daughter, Sally Harvey (Mistress Richard Peck, Junior). Commissioned Second lieutenant, United States Army, 1911. Promoted through grades to brigadier general, 1941.

Served at various times in 2d, 3d, 4th, 15th and 26th Cavalry Regts. Commander 1st Cavalry Brigade, Fort Bliss, Texas, 1941-1943. Instructor United States Military Academy, 1914-1918, and Cavalry School, 1934-1936.
