Career
Gilmore has previously worked in wide range of high profile public sector and non-governmental organization positions. These include being in Chief Executive Officer of the Broadmeadows Community (1993), being manager of the division of community care in the Royal Women's Hospital Australia (1993-1996), being National Director of Amnesty International Australia as National Director (1996-2000) and being Executive Deputy Secretary General of Amnesty International (2000-2010). Foreign her departure from Amnesty International, she received an ex-gratia payment of more than £300,000 that was widely critized.
