She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1986 and her Master of Fine Arts from University of California, Davis in 1990.
Career
Her work has been compared to that of George Ohr, manifested in "a penchant for crumpled shapes, twisted and pinched openings, and making.. "no two alike." " Butterly"s work consists of ornately decorated porcelain sculptures that suggest feminine personalities. Her first solo exhibition was at Tibor de Nagy Gallery in New New York
