Career
It is recorded that when Nobunaga Oda occupied Akutagawa Castle he alone held out while other castellans had surrendered and fled, until he was advised by Mitsuhide Akechi to surrender (1567). The following year he fought for Shogun Yoshiaki Ashikaga against the forces of the Miyoshi clan.
