Resulting most often from brain injury caused by strokes, brain tumors, and head trauma associated with vehicle accidents, aphasia disrupts the patient's ability to speak, read, and write; impairing them from communicating with others. "Educational Rehabilitation and Nursing for Aphasics in Japan: An Acculturation Model" proposes a new and innovative system of speech-language pathology for use in the clinical treatment of patients with dysphasia. This new approach to treatment is free from the barriers that exist between contemporary specialties and is the first of its kind. While the book deals primarily with aphasia, it also applies to the basic treatment, education, and rehabilitation in all types of disabilities.
