1928 Editor, almanac “Audra” (Storm). 1932 Editor, almanac “Darbas” (Labor). 1930-1931 on staff of journal “Trecias Frontas” (The Third Front).
(1932-1940 on staff of journal “Kultura” (Culture). 1940-1941 Secretary, Presidium, Lithuania Academy of Sciences. 1941-1943 member, Institute of Lithuania, Lithuania Academy of Sciences.
1946-1954 chiefly engaged in translating works of foreign writers into Lithuania including works by Schiller, Ibsen, etc.
