Kazuo Kikuta spent most of his boyhood at Formosa and as a result received no regular education.
Kazuo Kikuta entered the theatrical world and was in turn attached to Moroguchi Troupe, Tamakiza Theater, Warai-no-Okoku Troupe, Roppa Troupe till he was appointea chief of Sho-chiku Theater’s literary department. One of his radio plays titled "Kane-no-naru Oka" (The Hill Where the Bell Rings) created a sensation and ran for three years. He was director of American Film Cultural Association. Kazuo Kikuta joined the Toho theatrical organization (1955).
