Entered the Toyo Cotton Spinning Company soon after his graduation. Before World War II, became vicepresident of the company.
During the war, he concurrently was president of Textile Control Association, president of Osaka Chamber of Commerce, and president of Textile Association of Japan.
After the war, he was purged. On being depurged, he assumed the chairmanship of Board of Directors of Toyo Cotton Spinning Company. Is concurrently president of Kansai Regional Federation of Economic Organizations, adviser to Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and councilor to Bank of Japan and Development Bank of Japan.
