Diker studied Agricultural Engineering at Cukurova University from 1984 to 1988. Four years later he earned his Master of Science degree in Irrigation from Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania. Also in 1998, Kenan was given a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from Colorado State University.
Diker began his career as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Cukurova in 1989. A year later he took a position of an assistant professor at the same university and held the position until 2001. Also Kenan served as a PHD Candidate at Colorado state University form 1993 to 1998.
In 2000, he became an agricultural engineer at Water Management and Systems Research. Then in 2004, Diker held a position of a GIS (Geographic Information System) coordinator at Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. In 2007, he was appointed an environmental protection specialist at the same department. Six years later Kenan became a permits unit manager at Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Since 2016 he has been an agricultural water quality specialist at that department, where he works for the Restoration and Protection Unit and responsible for agricultural nonpoint source management in the state.
Diker is a member of American Society of Association Executives and Turkish Society of Agricultural Engineers.
On March 7, 1969 Kenan Diker married Ann Marie Wullschleger. They have two children.
