Kenjiro Matsumoto served as director of Meiji Colliery Company, and principal of Meiji Semmon College in 1912. During World War II, was appointed director of Coal Control Association, and a cabinet adviser under the Tojo Administration. He was Imperial nominee to the Upper House in 1945. Took active part in the establishment of the Federation of Economics Associations. Kenjiro Matsumoto was an adviser of the Japan Federation of Employers' Associations.
His son is a Diet member from the Socialist Party and his brother is a businessman.
