He was raised in New Orleans and attended Saint Augustine High School. The 6" 5", 179 lb (81 kg) shooting guard attended Villanova University and was later selected by the New Jersey Nets with the eighth pick in the 1996 National Basketball Association Draft.
He sat out his entire fifth season, in 2000-2001, due to rehabilitation from offseason surgery on his right knee. After seven seasons with the Nets, Kittles was finally traded to the Clippers in a salary purge. After one injury-riddled year in Los Angeles, Kittles departed from the Clippers.
Kittles now works for the Nets as a part-time scout.
He holds the Villanova University record for most points scored, with 2,243. Owns 15 Villanova all-time career records, including most points (2,243) and most steals (277)
