Kevin McAuliffe was born on September 9, 1949, in New York City, New York, the United States.

Career

A journalist for the Milford Citizen early in the 1970s, McAuliffe was appointed speechwriter and press aide first in 1978. McAuliffe penned two books, including The Time of My Death, which he wrote with Alan Jeffry Breslau in 1977, and the Great American Newspaper in 1978. After working for a short time under New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, he compiled a comical collection of the mayor’s quotations titled Sayings of Generalissimo Giuliani. McAuliffe also submitted writings to such publications as Nation and Progressive.

Achievements

• McAuliffe's talent and hard work helped him to become a speechwriter for three New York City mayors. His writings were highly praised and made him one of the most well-known speechwriters of his time.
