After his mission, Duncan married Wendy Wallentine in the Ogden Temple in July 1982. In 1984, she was killed in a car accident on their way to Duncan"s grandmother"s funeral. Duncan was left with a seven-month-old child.
He shortly after enrolled at Brigham Young University (Brigham Young University).
Duncan received Bachelor of Science and MACC degrees from Brigham Young University. He also received a Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University"s J. Reuben Clark Law School. He and Nancy are the parents of four children.
By 1992, Duncan was a principal in the Seattle firm of Duncan, Fritch & Hubbard. Duncan later founded CaseData Corporation, which specializes in providing litigation discovery forensics.
At the time of his call as a general authority, Duncan was living in Washington, Utah, and serving in the church as an area seventy.
He is a member of the church"s First Quorum of the Seventy. He was a member of the bar of the state of Washington.
