Since November 4, 2015 she serves as Chief of Ukrainian National Police. She has received further training under the aegis of the Central European University and the Research and Development Corporation in the 1990s and 2000s. Dekanoidze has been working for various government agencies of Georgia since 1999.
She was Director of Policy Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from May 2007 to May 2012 and Director of National Examination Center from May 2012 to July 2012, when she was appointed Minister of Education and Science, succeeding Dimitri Shashkin.
She remained in this position until October 25, 2012. On November 4, 2015 she was appointed as Chief of Ukrainian National Police.
