Career
Opened a curio shop in Edo and was well patronized by men of letters and painters. Kiku-u Kitano bought 8000 tsubo of land (24 acres) and planted various trees and flowers and called it "Hyakkaen" (1804). Until recent times this was a favorite place for garden parties among the residents of Tokyo.
