Narushima Kinko was born in 689-1760 in Iwaki Province (Fukushima Prefecture), Japan. His original family name was Hirai and his pseudonyms Hokyo and Fuyo-Dojin.

Career
He admired Sorai Ogyu.
He was adopted as heir by the Narushima family, served in the Shogunate and was treated well as a Confucian instructor.
He built a small house in which he preserved the books given him by the Shogunate, calling the library Fuyoro. He was also a good writer of waka and Japanese prose and wrote many books.
