Career
Belonging to the Mito clan of Ibaraki Prefecture, Kinshiro Ishii was highly critical of the weak Shogun policy against foreigners since the Ansei Era. Began forming a conspiracy and attacked the British Legation in Shiba, Edo, but was wounded, taken prisoner and died in prison (1861).
