Koji Miyake was born in 1882 in Tokyo, Japan.
He graduated from Sapporo Agricultural School (now Hokkaido University) in 1905.
After serving as assistant professor of Tohoku University became a professor of Hokkaido University; retired under age limit in 1942. Also served as engineer of Hokkaido Government Office and director of Central Experiment Station of Karafuto (Sakhalin) Government Office.
Published theses on fertilizer, temperature and precipitation factors in raising of agricultural crops. He was a president of Hokkaido Association for Promotion of Sugar Beet Raising and Sugar Industry and Hokkaido Soybean Producers' Association.
