Tamura Komariro was born on February 21, 1904 Osaka, Japan, the son of Komajiro the originator of dyeing technique for Yuzen muslin.
Tamura Komajiro graduated from Tennoji Commercial Middle School.
Tamura Komajiro succeeded to his father's business, known as Tamur Koma Company, which later became the Taiyo Rayon Company. After the war his business was purged, and he there upon switched to sports and founded a baseball team known as Taiyo Robins. With the lifting of the purge, he reestablished his company of which he was president. He founded another concern, Teikoku Seni, which soon came to be recognized as the leading textile firm in the Kansai District.
For 17 years, he was an owner in Nippon Professional Baseball and was the owner of the Shochiku Robins when they won the first Central League title in 1950. Tamura was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1970.
