After the Civil War, this territory belonged to Finland. During the FinnishSoviet war, the monks were evacuated to Finland, taking their valuable library, icons and bells with them, 1940. One of the founders of the New Valaam monastery in Eastern Finland.
Later, head of the monastery. The last survivor of the brotherhood of Old Valaam.
