He graduated from Shipbuilding Department of Tokyo University in 1899.
Career
He served successively as chief of Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Company, managing director of the same company, chairman of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Company, director of the head office of Mitsubishi Company.
He also was an auditor of Nihon Iron Manufacturing Company, chairman of Nihon Kogakukai (Japan Optics Society) and Zosen Toseikai (Shipbuilding Control Society) and president of Otama Kanko Kaihatsu Kaisha (Otama Tourist Development Company) and thereafter became counselor of Keidanren (Federation of Japan Economic Organizations).
