Career
He is currently the leader of the IMRO. Karakachanov was a candidate to become President of Bulgaria in the 2011 elections, winning 0.99% of all votes cast in the first round, finishing in 10th place. Alongside Simeonov, he is the co-spokesman for the electoral bloc. During the communist era (before 1989), Karakachanov was an informer of the Committee for State Security.
