He earned his Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Philosophy and Psychology from Northwestern University in 1991, and his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from University of California, San Diego in Philosophy, 1994, and Philosophy/Science Studies, 1997, respectively. His appointments include: Visiting Professor of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh, Spring 2009 Associate Professor, Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science, University of California Irvine, 2004–2008 & Fall 2009–Present Assistant Professor, Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science, University of California Irvine, 1998–2004 Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, University of California Irvine, 1997–2000.
